Health checks for men 30–39
The busiest working decade and the least attended. Most of what matters here is quick and cheap — it only requires showing up.
Asked at every age, not just yours
- Blood pressure — the cheapest measurement and the one most often skipped
- Weight and waist, recorded over time rather than measured once
- A complete list of medicines and supplements, including anything bought without a prescription
- Any allergies you have had, to medicines and to anything else
- Family history, with the AGE at which relatives were affected — the age is the detail that shifts a schedule
🫀 Heart and metabolic
- Blood pressure, glucose and lipids
- Waist and weight as a series over time
- If you snore loudly and are sleepy by day, ask about sleep apnoea
🎗️ Cancer screening
- Any mole that changes
- Know what is normal for your own testicles
- Family history of bowel cancer — screening may need to start earlier than usual
💉 Infection and vaccination
- Boosters and missed doses
- Hepatitis B and C if you are in a group that should be tested
- Travel vaccination before working or travelling abroad
🦴 Bones, senses and mobility
- Vision and dental care
- Back and shoulder pain from long sitting
- Hearing if you work in noise
🧠 Mental health and lifestyle
- Stress, sleep and persistent mood
- Alcohol — the real amount, not the estimate
- Smoking and vaping
What changes this list for you
- Early heart disease, stroke or cancer in the family
- Shift work or many hours of continuous sitting
- Long-standing excess weight
Any one of these can move a starting point earlier or change how often something is repeated. That is a conversation to have, not something to work out alone.
Questions to take with you
- Which of my numbers is moving in the wrong direction
- When should this be repeated
- Which change would make the biggest difference for me
