Health checks for women 30–39
The decade when things start shifting without causing symptoms yet. This is when a series of results over time begins to have real value.
Asked at every age, not just yours
- Blood pressure — the cheapest measurement and the one most often skipped
- Weight and waist, recorded over time rather than measured once
- A complete list of medicines and supplements, including anything bought without a prescription
- Any allergies you have had, to medicines and to anything else
- Family history, with the AGE at which relatives were affected — the age is the detail that shifts a schedule
🫀 Heart and metabolic
- Blood pressure, glucose and lipids — ask what interval fits your history
- If you had gestational diabetes, say so; it changes long-term follow-up
- Waist measurement, because it says something weight alone does not
🎗️ Cancer screening
- Cervical screening on the schedule advised for you
- Know what is normal for your breasts and report changes
- Family history of breast or ovarian cancer — give the relative’s age too
💉 Infection and vaccination
- Boosters and any missed doses
- Hepatitis B and C — ask whether you are in a group that should be tested
- If pregnant or planning to be, there is a separate antenatal screening set
🦴 Bones, senses and mobility
- Vision and dental care
- Back, neck and wrist pain from work — dealing with it early costs far less
- Iron deficiency, especially with heavy periods
🧠 Mental health and lifestyle
- Sleep, anxiety and mood — a period when pressures stack up
- After childbirth: a mood lasting weeks is something to report, not a weakness
- Alcohol and tobacco
What changes this list for you
- Family history of early disease
- Previous gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia
- Known polycystic ovary syndrome or thyroid disease
Any one of these can move a starting point earlier or change how often something is repeated. That is a conversation to have, not something to work out alone.
Questions to take with you
- Given my history, when should this be repeated
- How does this compare with my own previous result
- Should anything start earlier than usual for me
