What it measures
Grows bacteria from a urine sample to identify which organism it is and which medicines still work against it.
Why it is ordered
Ordered for recurrent urinary infections, when treatment is not working, or in pregnancy.
How to prepare
🔴 Collect a midstream sample after cleaning, into a sterile container. A sample taken AFTER starting antibiotics loses its value — say so if you have already taken any.
