Allergy testing

What it measures
Measures antibodies to specific allergens in blood, or tests them on the skin.
Why it is ordered
🔴 A positive result means the body has an immune response to that substance — it does NOT automatically mean clinical allergy. It must be read with the history, otherwise it leads to unnecessary avoidance.
How to prepare
Skin prick testing usually requires stopping antihistamines for several days — ask which and for how long. The blood test does not require stopping them.
