Cervical screening (Pap and HPV)

What it measures
Collects cells from the cervix for examination, and/or looks for high-risk HPV types.
Why it is ordered
One of the best-evidenced screening programmes in preventive medicine. The interval between tests depends on the method and the previous result.
How to prepare
Avoid during menstruation. No douching, no vaginal medication, and abstain from intercourse for the period advised beforehand.
